If you’ve been watching YouTube recently and suddenly Chrome starts generating captions on its own, you’re not alone. This feature—Live Caption—turns on automatically for some users, and while it’s useful in certain situations, it can also be pretty distracting.

I had the same issue, so I checked how to turn it off.
The solution is surprisingly simple.

✔️ How to Turn Off Auto-Generated Captions in Chrome

You can disable it directly from Chrome’s accessibility settings:

  1. Open Chrome Settings
  2. Go to Accessibility
  3. Find Live Caption (Auto-generated captions)
  4. Switch it Off

That’s all.
Once you toggle it off, YouTube will stop showing those automatic captions.

Visual Example

The screenshot below shows exactly where the toggle appears in Chrome settings.
(If you open “Accessibility,” you’ll see the Live Caption option immediately.)

ZIDOOKA!
