Copilot Agent ‘Sorry, your request failed’ — Just Retry and It Works

The Error

While using Copilot Agent in VS Code, I got this error out of nowhere:

Sorry, your request failed. Please try again.

Copilot Request id: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

GH Request Id: XXXXXXXXX

Reason: Error on conversation request. Check the log for more details.

The Fix

Just click Try Again. That's it. It worked immediately.

Probable Cause

Likely a temporary server-side hiccup. When using heavy models like Claude 4.5 Opus, occasional failures are expected.

My Experience

I used Copilot Agent (Claude 4.5 Opus) all day, and this error only happened once. Retry fixed it instantly.

No need to panic. No need to dig through logs. Just retry.
